Clothespin Boards
These clothespin boards are a wonderful way of storing things that are pretty enough to be on display for awhile, such as postcards, magazine cuttings, and invitations that might slip out of mind if they are out of sight.
MATERIALS:
Wooden board measuring 16 x 4 1/2 x 3/4 inches
Drill and 1/4 inch bit
Matte latex paint
Pencil
Strong wood glue
3 wooden clothes pins
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place a spare piece of wood beneath the peg board to protect your working surface and drill one screw hole in the center of each short side of the peg board 1 inch in from the edges.
2. Paint the wood in the color of your choice.
For a more distressed finish, loosely brush on a single coat or paint so that some of the underlying wood shows through.
Or if you prefer a more even coverage, apply two or more coats.
Leave to dry.
3. Lightly mark the position of the pins on the board in pencil, spacing them equally.
Apply strong wood glue to one side of each clothespin and fix each one firmly into positions.
If you want to add some more decoration to your board, use stencils and paint to give it some flare.
