Here are some simple, easy to make Halloween costumes you can make in no time at all, with just some basic sewing skills.

Baby Moose

* White cotton gloves stuffed with batting make perfect antlers.

* Sew onto a brown cap. Fill the toes of brown baby socks with batting for ears and attach above antlers.

*A a set of Brown Baby PJ's or any brown one piece out fit for baby and your ready to go.

*For the bigger kids, a brown sweat suit will work for the body.

****Be safe at night, this suit is BROWN, wear reflector stickers and bring a flashlight so those cars see you!

The Happiest Clown

* Attach two plastic pot scrubbers (pick bright colors, reds, blues and yellows) and a colored ball to the top of a cotton cap any color works for the cap, but white or another bright color will ensure you are visible while walking around on Halloween night.

* Thread plastic pot scrubbers loosely with elastic into a very loose fitting necklace to be used as the clown's collar

* Hot-glue or stitch three plastic pot scrubbers to the front of a one-piece jumper (pick a color that matches the hat, again I recommend white or some other bright/visible color).

* Cinch pot scrubbers with twist ties and stitch or glue to shoes.

Bring a few extra colorful balls for funny attempts at juggling if you want to make the crowds laugh (and maybe win yourself an extra piece of candy or two!)

Cowgirl Princess

SUPPLIES FOR YOUR HALLOWEEN COSTUME:

Leotard and tights in white, pink, or purple

embroidered and felt flower trims

hot glue gun

2 yards of 2" satin ribbon

6 bandannas in assorted prints (white, pink and purples)

white, pink or purple net tutu

cowgirl hat

boots

INSTRUCTIONS:

*Glue decorations (embroidered and felt flowers) around neckline of leotard.

*Cut ribbon long enough to form a waistband with extra to tie in back.

*Cut bandannas in half lengthwise.

*Gather top edge of each bandanna piece into a point, and pin to the back of the ribbon, covering a section equaling your child's waist measurement.

*Sew bandannas to ribbon, and wear bandanna skirt over a tutu.

*Complete the outfit with a cowgirl hat and boots.

The little old lady or man

*Dress accordingly in an older man's (a suit is great) or woman's clothing.

*Add hat

*Bring a walking cane, if you don't have a real walking cane you can substitute an appropriate size stick.

*Add some creative face painting with lots of wrinkles of course.

*To make is really when you go to a door, be sure to add the cracking voice and a prominent limp.

The Hobo

*Recycle some unwanted clothing.

*Paint on or put on patches, rip some areas (especially around the bottoms of pants, ends of sleeves, elbows and knees, since these areas show wear first).

*Use black or brown makeup to smudge the face a little to look un-kept.

*Blush the nose to look a little reddish. (hobos get cold outside)

*Sport the oldest pair of worn looking shoes you can find (or even better, two different shoes) and a tattered hat and you're good to go!

The Big Baby:

*This is an amusing Halloween costume for an older child. Return to the diaper zone!

*A bottle or pacifier, a bib, a homemade cloth diaper (over tights or pants of course), and a rattle.

*Add some rosy cheeks and your youngster will be ready to laugh (or cry) his/her way through trick or treat.

The Graduate:

*Have an old graduation cap and gown? If it doesn't hold too much sentimental value, you can use it to create a very simple, easy, costume.

*Create a fake diploma and drape it from the waist tied by a string or yarn of same color or wear like a necklace. You don't want the trick or treater to have to carry it. I've discovered these types of Halloween costume accessories usually end up in Mom's or Dad's hands to carry after a short time.
