Frayed Napkins

Frayed edges are back. These napkins, can be made from just about any scrap of fabric, and could not be easier to create. The same method described here could also be used to make a matching table cloth. What a fantastic gift idea, great for a housewarming party, holiday hostess gift or any other special occasion.

MATERIALS:

18 in. square of even weave fabric, such as linen

Sewing machine

Needle

Matching thread

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut the fabric to the required size

2. Machine stitch around all sides of the fabric about 1/2 inch from the edge to prevent it from fraying

3. Using the tip of a needle, carefully pull the threads around the edges to make even amounts of fraying.

I told you it was easy.

For a table cloth follow the same steps measuring your fabric to be large enough to cover the size of your table.
