Make a Pillowcase Smock for Your Little Crafters
Save a pillowcase from the rag pile by turning it into a pillowcase smock to help keep all the little crafters in your life clean.
Using pinking shears, cut a shallow 9 or 10 inch wide slit for the head and a 6 or 7 inch slit for each arm.
Have your artist try on the smock, enlarging any openings as needed and folding up the bottom hem to make the smock a comfortable length (about 6 inches works well). This creates nice deep pockets to hold your crafters supplies.
Secure the folded hem all around the edge with a few quick stitches or use several columns of four or five buttons.
Although this smock will survive machine drying, if you want it to last a while you may want to line dry it.
